Would the money make you stay?

Olivia, Somaya, Chrissy, Emily, Moshanda

Last night I watched "Love & Hip Hop" and I was amazed at crack TV and how it manages to draws us all in.  These characters get funnier and funnier as the shows go on.  Enter the big breasted wanna be rapper with the fucked up shoe game, Somaya Reece.  Then there's Olivia, ex G Unit rapper who... ehhh.. well she's cute.  Talented? Not so much.  Then there's Mashonda, the woman that will be forever known as the one who got played for Alicia Keys.  My personal favorite was Chrissy.  Chrissy is Jim Jones woman.  She is as hood as hood gets, chasing every girl away that even glances as Jim's diseased looking ass.  Last but not least is Emily.  Emily is the whole inspiration behind this blog.  Emily is Fabulous' stylist and his main knob slobber.  8 Years and one child later, and she still cant walk the red carpet with her man.

After seeing Emily cry about not being claimed by her man it made me wonder, why does she stay?  Would you stay with a man (or woman) who does not claim you?  Is it the financial security?  Watching this show, you see the blatant disrespect that these men have for their women.  Chrissy puts so much energy into checking Jim Jones phone and computer.  She goes as far as to confront tacky ass Somaya who didn't even want dirty Jimmy.  If there is no trust in these relationships and clearly no security, why do these women stay?

I don't think I'd ever date a rapper/athlete.  There's a reason for their reputation.  At what point do us women realize that financial security is not enough for you to stay with a person who doesn't recognize your worth.  The question you should really ask is, Do You Recognize Your Own Worth?  I'm sure after Emily invested 8 years with Fab she feels she deserves a little acknowledgment.  Does Emily realize that she deserves better?
