So Irene came to chill with us last night over here on the east coast. She did major damage in some places, but up here in Harlem, she walked on by. I was one of the people who thought this storm was over dramatized. This storm was being called "The Storm of a Lifetime," on the news and was being compared to Hurricane Katrina. Irene was NOTHING compared to Katrina. Thousands of people lost their lives during Katrina. Irene caused flooding and ruined a few cars. Either way, I am thankful to still be alive and kicking.
On another note, there were some dumb ass people not taking the storm seriously. Like the 3 people surfing in Rockaway Beach after it was supposed to be evacuated. The couple caught Kayaking that had to be rescued... Of course they were... *clears throat*... well... you know. They weren't of Nubian decent.
