Last week I did a blog about the music industry and the lack of talent, so you can imagine my excitement when I heard that one of my FAVORITE bands, A Guy n A Girl (AGuynAGirl or AGNAG) was going to be on 3Minds Live. AGNAG consist of Guill (the guy) and Diandra (the girl).  Together these 2 artist form a sound that embodies rock, soul, funk, indie and conscious music all in one.  If you don't enjoy commercial music, and seek something with substance, AGNAG is the eclectic sound you want to listen to.  Both self taught Guitarist came together and perfected a sound that in my opinion, has not been done by anyone else.

Last Night on 3Minds Live...

Last night on 3Minds live we had Vital and Vanessa, co-creaters of  Elevated Productions on the show(@VitalisElevated and @IamElevated).  Vital and Vanessa are apart of a very important movement that is so important to our community and our youth today. 

*Each year 100,000 New Yorkers experience homelessness.
*Each night, over 38,000 homeless individuals sleep in the New York City shelter system.  This includes more than 16,000 children and 8,000 single adults.  Thousands more sleep on city streets and in other public places.
*Nearly 1-in-20 New York City residents have experienced homelessness.
*Families make up 78% of New York City's homeless shelter population.
*Approximately 90% of homeless New Yorkers are black or Latino, although only 53% percent of New York City's total population is black or Latino.

Vital and Vanessa spent one night in the city as homeless people.  They got kicked out of Starbucks, slept on trains and asked for money on behalf of the homeless youth.  While their efforts were commendable, they were not widely received by the public.  Many people thought that they were trying to scam the public.  More heterosexuals supported them that homosexuals.  Ultimately, an important lesson was learned.  It is never easy for the homeless out there.  There are different degrees of homelessness.  Either way, homelessness is problem that grows day by day.

3Minds has decided to partner with Elevated Productions and spend one night on the streets as homeless people.  Let's band together to raise awareness about homelessness in NYC.  If anyone is interested in joining us, please contact Vanessa, Vital or Delicia (3Minds manager) with the information provided below.

Thursday, May 26th Elevated Productions will be donating for Stand Up For Kids, an organization that helps homeless youth 14+.  This event will be in front of BestBuy and people can donate clothes, toiletries and non perishables.  If you are interested in making a donation, please feel free to stop by the BestBuy in union square at 7pm.

As you all SHOULD know, March is Women's History Month.  As we honor women who have paved the way for you and I today, it was only fitting that 3Minds would have Mogul B, founder of No Labelz Magazine and Leidy, No Labelz Publicist and fashion editor on the show.  I don't know about you, but it is truly an inspiration to watch a young woman of color chase and achieve her dreams.  The idea behind No Labelz is an important one.  We live in a world that doesn't accept us and implores to define us.  As a people, we chose to define ourselves by placing unnecessary labels on ourselves and each other.  In my opinion, the key to living life is to explore FREEDOM.  Be free to be who you are.  Identify solely as you, and not as a term that has limitations under it.  Live freely by having No Labels. 

No Labelz was established 5 years ago.  The first of its kind to highlight LGBTQ of color. In those 5 years, No Labelz has become an international selling magazine sold in Barnes & Nobles and Borders Bookstores across the world.  Clearly what started as a dream quickly became reality.  Today, No Labelz Magazine caters to EVERYONE, making sure that consumers who picks up a copy will find a piece of themselves within the magazine.  There are many upcoming projects that explore their diversity in catering to their audience. In about 3 weeks, the Spring issue of No Labelz Magazine will drop.  Also coming soon the, "I'm Just Me," Documentary, and last but not least, "No Labelz Prep," a clothing line to highlight the Androgynous Female.  Leidy raves about this line stating its, "well tailored, good quality and affordable."  The clothing line is set to make its debut in September around fashion week.

Mogul B notes that it was a dream of hers that took time.  Nothing worth having occurs overnight.  She expresses the importance of investing in your craft even if it will leave you broke.  There will be down times, you won't always have money, but if its truly your dream, it will be all worth it. No Labelz has a hefty staff which Mogul B humbly thanks for all of their hard work and dedication.

Last Night on My 3 Minds...

  

Last Night was one of the WILDEST 3 Minds Live shows EVER!  If you didn't watch it live then catch the Ustream on the http://my3minds.com/ website.



On the show Mz. Unique AKA Fontasha Brown, discussed the fundraiser that she is apart of.  The goal of the fundraiser is to help a family enjoy Christmas buy using the proceeds from her product.  Mz . Unique bakes Holiday Liquor Cupcakes.  I'm not a huge fan of alcohol but these cupcakes were BOMB!  The Charity is for a great cause so if you're able to support, please do so.  So I tasted the Hennessy N' Chocolate Cupcakes and the Vanilla and Strawberry Nuvo Cupcakes.  Other flavors include, Incredible Hulk, Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, Coconut Rum Red Velvet, Vanilla Rum, Pineapple Rum Upside Down and for lame ass granny's like myself, non-alcoholic cupcakes are available.

The second guest was the reason for dropped panties across America.  The chatroom was filled with 586 women all screaming for this girl to remove her clothes and do all types of nasty to them.  The women in the auidience were ready to exchange sexual acts for cupcakes.  If you didn't watch the Ustream then you need to do so directly after reading this entry.  Kellz, female exotic dancer (or @wait2UCMyStrap), did the dammn thing on the show.  I have never seen a family show turn so quickly into a potential orgy. LOL.  I'm not going to front, when I first saw her walk in I didnt know what to expect.  Kellz has an innocent baby face.  I think thats what makes her so appealing to everyone.  You'd never think that she would move like that in front of you.  Let me just say this, I'm embarrassed to say that while she was dancing I ran once I saw her strap.  I mean, her name is @Wait2UCMyStrap... the fuck was I expecting to see?  Needless to say, Kellz shows are for mature eyes ONLY!

Last Night on 3Minds Live...

Sooo... :) Last night Gossipbois 3 Minds Live, interviewed the VERY talented Vicky Green.  Prior to last night, I had never met Vicky Green so I wasn't too sure what to expect.  With all they hype over Nicki Minaj, I was really hoping she wouldn't be some cheap barbie type.  I can honestly say she is the exact opposite.  Embodying talent and confidence, Vicky has her own flow, her own style and her own presence.  From the door, you could tell she was about her grind.  She's a business woman all about expanding her craft to reach a broader audience.  Backed by the 5 Star Cliq, Vicky holds up her 5 fingers with pride.  Needless to say, the audience loved her and I'm positive she gained a few more fans last night.

Key facts from the interview:

During the interview, Vicky (can I call you Vicky?) was asked who she has been compared to in the past.  I was soooooooooooooooo happy that she didn't mention Nicki Minaj or Lil Kim.  Nothing wrong to being compared to them, BUT when every female rapper is being compared to those two, music begins to sound cliche and unoriginal.  She said her style is often compared to Lauren Hill and Kanye West. 

I'm sure a question that Vicky gets a lot would be, "What's your nationality?" She makes it know that she is NOT what everyone often thinks that she is.  "I'm not Dominican, I'm not Spanish, I'm not even black!" lol.
Vicky is from two different Native American Tribes, Arab and White.

Besides her musical talents, she can hook up them napps in the back of your head.  Vicky works at a hair salon where she specializes in any and everything that grows from your scalp.
