How would you feel if heterosexuals decided to have a pride parade? Most would see no problem with it. I don't know that I have a problem with it, I just feel that the majority doesn't need to be celebrated because they are celebrated daily. Having a heterosexual pride day is similar to having a white pride parade. Is this wrong?
Well I ask all of this because Brazil is in talks of having "Heterosexual Pride Day." Brazil happens to be one of the most sexual open places to live. They produce some of the most beautiful women and they're the home to many porn stars, porn productions, HIV, Herpes and every other STD you can imagine. I say all of that to say with a place so open about sexuality and and not as educated about protection, shouldn't heterosexual pride day turn into human awareness day?
I guess I'm against a heterosexual pride because I feel that heterosexuals are already privileged. As a heterosexual, you already have many advantages over me. You're pride is outwardly celebrated everyday when you marry, have children and and don't suffer bullying due to your sexuality. For those who have to hide their sexuality, endure bullying and harassment on the job and in the streets, I think its fitting to have a day to celebrate who you are. I mean, its not everyday a heterosexual commits suicide for being straight and persecuted.
