Who said you have to sell out to make it?

I remember back in the day going to Tempermental and watching Siya perform.  She had a drive and stage presence that we all knew would take her far.  She's come a LONG way.  It is truly REFRESHING to come across an artist that is true to herself.  Siya is pretty much the first OPENLY lesbian rapper/MC in the industry.

If you haven't seen Siya locally its because she's busy doing college tours, performing live at BBKings with Wyclef Jean, opening for Fat Joe and Fabulous for one of their concerts among other things.  Siya receives praises for staying relevant in a male based industry.  She holds her own and what stands out the most about her is that she is NOT a gimmick.  This is her.  No facial spasms, no implants and no sometimeish lesbian tendencies.

As a lesbian in this community, I salute you and your success.  Thanks for staying true to yourself and not conforming like the rest of these lesbian rappers do for a little commercial success.  From performing in tempermental to opening for Platinum selling artist, keep doin' your thing!

Remember When?

I reached deep down into my comfort zone and pulled some words out hoping they would form a meaning...
Sometimes I'm hard to understand so i let my pencil do that walking...
You see, verbal communication is not my favorite way of speaking...
mental connections and united souls are what keeps my heart beating...
My mind can make love to a sentence in ways that the eyes just don't understand...
My sentences create orgasms all with the stroke of my pen...
words become melodies and and paragraphs begin to make you remember when...
remember when we connected, me in one city, you in the other...No spoke words just letters from my lover...
Those moments in the night where our thoughts dance with each other...
Those moments in the night where our hearts raped each other...
Those moments in the night where our lives saved each other...
remember when?

Do shows like '16 and Pregnant' and 'Teen Mom' promote teen pregnancy?

So teens are having sex.  That's no secret.  I can't help but feel that they have some encouragement from shows like '16 and Pregnant' and 'Teen Mom'.

16 and Pregnant documents the life of young mothers and their struggle through pregnancy.  The show does not paint a pretty picture.  These young women go through issues of the baby fathers not wanting to be apart of the children's life, parents not agreeing with their child's choice to be pregnant so young, and the teen mother facing the fact that she may not be able to graduate high school.  Still, their life is being documented and they're paid to expose such a personal part of their life.  So then I wonder, does shows like this promote pregnancy for television time and a pay check?

The mothers from Teen Mom have been all over the tabloid magazines.  The amount of fame that they have received must be appealing to our teenage audience.  The 50-60K(an episode) must definitely look appealing.  Shit- for 50K I'd rewind time and get myself pregnant. The amount of opportunities that these young women now have for putting their life on television is crazy!  You saw what happened to the "hide yo kids, hide yo wife" man.  He's been on every news show, he's been on the BET awards (smh), AND he's gotten paid out his ass!  I hear he's even dropping an album. I digress...

If we are really trying to raise awareness amongst our teens about pregnancy, let's try talking to them.  Handing them condoms instead of giving them a platform like television, a huge paycheck and lots of publicity.

Blah: Nicki vs. lil Kim

WHO CARES? Do you REALLY care?  I don't.  They're both really tacky and fake.  I rather chew glass than have sex with them... I would however chew glass to get paid like them.  #imjustsayin.

I'm not a fan of commercial artist so that's my main reason for not liking Nicki.  When she first came out, she admitted to liking women.  Now shes all "hollywood" so she's straight.  I'm also not with all facial spasms.  She should get that checked out.

Kim looks like roadkill.  I liked her back in the day when Biggie was writing her lyrics.  I even liked her after Biggie passed and her ghostwriter took over.  I don't mind her too much now, I'm just not for all the hype.  Old washed up broad meets new future washed up broad.  Blah...
YIKES...

Do you DJ?

I was scrolling through my blackberry messenger contacts and I saw that one of my friends icon said, "Horny doesn't ever begin to cover it."  I hit her up and asked her if she "DJ'd".  She laughed.  She didn't say yes or no, she just laughed.  That had me thinkin...

I wonder how many horny AG's are out there and how many of them DJ in their time of need.  I think its more natural for a femme to admit to masturbation but for some reason, aggressive females never own up.  #comeonson!

When its really late at night... and you have that tingling feeling down there... Do you DJ?

World AIDS Day

Today is World AIDS day.  I personally think that EVERYDAY should be World AIDS Day.  Everyday we should be fully aware of our status.

So many people take their life for granted.  Every day is a blessing.  Don't take it for granted for 20 minutes of sexual gratification.  Here are some Facts or Fictions about AIDS.

Fact or Fiction:  Once you've contracted the HIV virus, you automatically have AIDS.

-This is Fiction.  You can live for many years with the HIV Virus and not contract AIDS.  Being HIV-positive, or having HIV disease, is not the same as having AIDS. Many people are HIV-positive but don't get sick for many years. As HIV disease continues, it slowly wears down the immune system. Viruses, parasites, fungi and bacteria that usually don't cause any problems can make you very sick if your immune system is damaged. These are called "opportunistic infections." (courtesy of selfgrowth.com)

Fact or Fiction:  You can get HIV/AIDS by sharing a needle (tattoos or for drug usage), sexual intercourse with an infected person (oral, anal and vaginal) and from mother to daughter during child birth.

-This is a Fact.  If  blood, vaginal fluid, semen, and breast milk of people infected with HIV has enough of the virus in it, it can infect other people.

Fact or Fiction: You can get infected by kissing, tears and saliva.

-BOTH.  You can ONLY get infected by kissing IF the person you are kissing has bleeding gums or sore in their mouth.  Otherwise, you can not get infected  by swapping saliva, kissing or tears.

Make sure you know your status.  Knowing your status saves other peoples life.

Last Nights Gossip Bois

Last night on Gossip Bois, 3 minds had 2 FABULOUS guest.  The Primadonna Chix (me and my business partner Crystal) and Foxx Jazell.

Soooo... The Primadonna Chix are made up of 2 women who sell make up and accessories.  We were so nervous being on the show! It was pretty cool though.  3minds made us feel really comfortable.  We discussed or upcoming make up and accessory sale and went through the Do's and Dont's of applying makeup.  #goodtimes

If you wanna keep up with us, follow us on twitter @primadonnachix  Add us on facebook.  http://www.facebook.com/primadonnachix or follow our blog http://www.primadonnachix.blogspot.com/

Now if we can get Lin to let us give her a makeover...

Foxx Jazell was also on the show.  She's a transgendered rapper from California.  VERY TALENTED!
She has such a humble energy about her.  She was featured on the Tyra Show which is such an accomplishment.  Let's face it, this industry isn't ready to support people like us.  Let's support each other! Look up her youtube videos.  Follow her on twitter @foxxjazell.  GOOGLE HER! Foxx Jazell.  Check out her website.  http://www.foxxjazellmusic.com/
